Soapbox Races a SUCCESS » 2019-Jun-14

The 2019 Waverley Hill Soapbox Races was another successful year for everyone involved!  This year brought warm weather, fun activities in the park, more racers, and saw over $37,000 raised for children and youth in our community!

Funds raised from the event are in support of George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay.

Proudly presented by Best Western Plus Dryden Hotel and Conference Centre and LiUNA Local 607, this year marked the 16th anniversary for the event which took place on Saturday, June 8th at Waverley Park and Hill. The day was filled with racing, free family activities in the park, and many local vendors. It brought the community out to support for a truly unique event that lets children enjoy the thrill of the hill as they race their homemade soapbox cars down one of Thunder Bay’s largest hills.

This event would not be possible without the incredible support of SNAPParamedic, Leo Elliott, and all the dedicated volunteers and individuals who continue to come out and support the races.
