Work of Art Created Through Generosity » 2016-Oct-14

Local artist Tracy Barry (The Nest Studio) wrapped up her Travelling Canvas Fundraiser Event Tuesday August 23rd at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre. The Centre was her last stop on her one month journey along the North Shore raising funds for George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation. Tracy stopped in various townships between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie with her Travelling Canvas inviting people to donate in order to paint a section, creating a beautiful mosaic painting. This is the first of which Tracy hopes to be an annual event supporting different charities each year. “The Travelling Canvas Fundraising Event is a unique activity but also a symbol of unity, purpose and awareness. To be able to bring communities together is inspiring and the generosity I have seen from each township is heartwarming” says Tracy. Tracy’s vision is to spread the word about the many different resources we have in Ontario and help to raise not only awareness but funds for non-profit organizations.
